Have you ever gone somewhere, to someone's home, and you just immediately felt comfortable there? Like you were part of the family? Like it was home? That's how I feel when I go to Peter's family's house in the Valley. You can just go in, flop down on the couch or at the table, and everything's so laid back and relaxed and everybody's so welcoming. I love it. He's got a mon and dad who are still very much in love, a sister who's great to hang out with and talk to, and a brother who will do anything as long as it's with you. I love it. I wish I could spend every weekend there.
The sun was out today full force. I am definitely slightly burnt... with new atrocious tanlines.. This time, they are on my chest, not the legs... Definitely much worse... *sigh* This can't be good...
The fair is in Sackville!!! I saw it today when I went to the bank to deposit my HST cheque... Man, I love that thing... The HST cheque, I mean... Well, the fair too. I probably won't end up going, but I really want to! I want to go on all the rides and win (or have someone win for me) a giant teddy bear from those games that are practically impossible to beat. Oh! And eat cotton candy! Yup. That's what I want!
What's up with lifeguards and maintenance people? It seems that they always become fast friends. At least, that's how it's been in my experience... My first year as a lifeguard, Luke was the Maintenance Director, and we hung out often. In fact, we're still friends. Then the next year, there was Mr. Tim for the first month and a bit. We got along great. I miss Mr. Tim... He's married now. Somehow, we understood each other. Then Thomas came along to replace Mr. Tim and was there the next year as well. Another great friend who I spent much of my free time at camp with. Is this only a camp phenomenon? I don't think so... because the maintenance guys at Playland are also around the slides a lot, and we all get along really well too. They've even got nicknames for me. I'm Baywatch or Trouble or After Eight (yeah... I don't get that one either...). Lifeguards and maintenance people... Hmm.. don't know why but it works.
I got promoted at work. haha I'm now a Shift Manager as well as Head Lifeguard... so I'm doing 3 shifts/week as each... although lately, my lifeguard shifts have turned into lifeguarding till Sheryl gets in and then heading to the office to do schedules, etc. Anyway, I will (hopefully) be making a little bit more money and getting my full 40 hours/week, so I guess that's good... I'm a little tired of work right now. I even volunteered to leave early today... I probably should have stayed to keep the hours, but I was tired and not especially wanting to be there. Oh well!
