The Old Has Gone, The New Has Come

Today, Trent purchased me a new very important pink tank top to replace the one that vanished from my laundry hamper. I was very thankful because I had no money to buy myself one, but I wear it all the time and under a lot of my stuff, so it was actually a very important article of clothing. Thanks, Trent. :)

Class today was very interesting. It was my Environmental Ethics class. She was talking about the history of the word "nature" and "natural". It was interesting. I enjoyed it... even if there was a bit of creation bashing... However, she did say to us that before we argued with a creationist, we'd better know our stuff because creationists know their stuff - it is their life. I thought that was cool of her to say. The readings for this week, which I haven't done yet, are very Christianity-bashing, though. All about how Christians are the cause of environmental degradation because the Bible teaches that God gave man dominance over the earth and all its creatures. We have to do a WebCT posting on the readings each week, so I plan to say that I do believe that God gave humans dominion over creation, but we were supposed to use that dominion for good (to care for creation, not harm it); however, because of the fall, humans have started exploiting nature to satisfy their own greed. There are a few others who have tried to lift the blame off Christianity, as well, and that is encouraging. I'll never get any comments back on my posting because it's graded on being there and having a proper reference instead of its content, but at least people will hear truth.

Anyhow, I must get back to my Finance reading... and then get on with Oceanography. Why does university have to have so much reading that goes with it??
