Public Service Announcement
Well, folks, it is official. Amarea Elizabeth Hamilton will not be returning to Camp Peniel this summer. *sigh* This was a very hard decision for me to come to... Every time I decided I would go back, I knew in my heart that it was a bad idea, and I also kept thinking about how much I'd miss everyone around here and how much more money I could make if I stayed here. But then, every time I decided not to go back, I would be in tears thinking about how much I would miss camp and the kids and all my staff friends and everything! Argh... Why do things like this have to be so hard?! I don't understand... I am going to miss camp like crazy, but I do know deep down inside that I made the right decision, as hard as it was.
On a completely different note, I've decided that giving a very tall person a hug is much more difficult than someone who's around your height, because really there are two options:
1. Tall person must bend in half, which means the hug isn't as close as it would be otherwise, or
2. Short person must jump up and end up not being able to reach the ground (have not tried this option yet...)
I think I'm just used to hugging people with my arms on top, so this is taking some getting used to...
And on another completely different note, belly dance starts up again tomorrow afternoon! I can't wait! I hope we do our super cute sexy dance again! heehee Now, to find my hip scarf... It jinlges! *jingle, jingle*

That's cool that you are sticking around this summer. I'm selfishly happy that you are staying, cause you get to spend the summer with us!!
I think that this is the best decision. You've gotta go with your gut :).
3. Short person demands that tall person kneel down to hug short person ;).
yeah, I'm not going ANYWHERE this summer! So excited for a summer at home with everyone .... howabout we go SWIMMING ;) ;)
4. Short person gets a stool / sits on a counter top. The counter top option actually works very well. (I definately understand your dilema with the tall guy...It can get neck and back breaking after awhile to stretch up that high.)
It is a hard choice, to change. It's ripped my heart out to decide not to go back. But I, too, feel this is the best thing for everyone involved... *sigh* Sometimes I hate reality.

I would rather hug a taller person than someone shorter than me or my height (not that I have anything against the under 5'5" set :P).

That really is impressive, Megha! ;) We must have some weird mind link going on here...
for times of seeking comfort I put my arms under his arms and allow him to completely swallow me.
for other times I put my arms over his shoulders and then he picks me up and gives me a bear hug. sometimes he pulls me higher so my back stretches out and relieves tension. but perhaps this type of hug is only reserved for married couples. ;)
my point is that hugging a taller person is totally doable and I like it.
i'm going to miss you amarea, you have been my big sister when marie hasn't been around. so thank you very much, it ment everything to me.
Oh, Marziman, I'm going to miss you sooo much!! I will write you over the summer for sure... I still want to be your big sister!
I'm predicting a very FUN-filled summer! Although my life will be swamped for half of it.
Here's an option: wear 6-inch heels so hugging tall person will feel like hugging short person :).

Oh man, life at camp is going to be so strange... no amarea, no marie, no tom... who else will there be no of? me if i dont get on top of that application.... i gotta get on that.
