He Cares

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light." -Matthew 11:28-30

I was pondering these verses yesterday afternoon in my DG, and I found myself leaving them feeling encouraged, but also curious. I was encouraged by the thought of God wanting me to have peace and rest, but more than that, I was encouraged by the thought that God actually cares! God cares about me - like, for real. After this sunk in, I started realizing that I go through life just looking for someone who will care, someone who will pay attention to me, someone who will love me, someone who actually cares about who I am and how I am feeling. So, if God already is all of that, then why am I still looking!? I don't know... Perhaps it is because humans were built for companionship (it wasn't good for Adam to be alone, so God created Eve specifically for the purpose of being a companion), but still... Hmm... things to think about!!
